The Senior Special Adviser to the governor on petroleum, Hon. Peter Nwosu is commonly known as Peter Nupeng on Saturday 25th July 2020 donated a storey building to his community Ndiezenwankwo community Uruagu for the purpose of a community hall and a primary health care centre to support the efforts of the government of Anambra State on the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
At a time when the world is fighting to survive, the only good we owe is to contribute our quota to the health care system, Hon, Nwosu in his proactive manner thought towards securing the health of his people and completed this timeless project.
The building which foundation was laid 2018 was borne out of the passion to help ameliorate the frequency of going to the teaching hospital miles teaching, wherefore in the process lives are lost and urgent care not granted due to crowd, this facility will provide primary health care to indigenes at a time when urgent health care is paramount, supporting the government of Anambra State on the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking at the event, Mrs Joy, a native of the community was filled with joy at the proximity from her house to a health facility which caters for herself and her infant’s medical needs-ranging from immunization to critical issues.
In her words, she narrated that going to the teaching hospital was an uphill task, and with this facility, she has been assured of good health care at her backdoor.
When a remarkable project is accomplished, the frontiers of development are seen in attendance, such persons as seen today were; the speaker of the house of assembly Rt. Hon. Uche Victor Okafor, the lawmaker representing Nnewi North at the house of assembly, Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor, the Executive Secretary of National Primary Health Care Development Agency Anambra State, Dr Mrs Chioma Ezenyimulu, the royal father of the day, Obi Nnamdi Charles (Ogidi II), the Chairman Nnewi North Local Government Area Hon. Engr Prince Chukwudi Orizu represented by the honourable councillor for works- Hon. Fabian Obi, the board chairman ASPHCDA Prof. J.O Ogbuagu among others.
At the event, in support of the government’s effort towards curbing the spread of the pandemic, the director of Nutrition of the clinic was asked to teach the community how to wash hands properly as prescribed by the united nations. It was an impactful session.
Subsequently, the speaker of the house of assembly commended the efforts of Hon. Peter Nwosu adding that the government will contribute its quota to see that the roads leading to the hospital are in the top-notch state. Hon Smart Okafor added that whatever the hospital and the entire primary health care agency of Anambra state required within his purview he will represent their interest completely at the house and also with his presence.
The executive secretary NPHCDAA commended honourable Nwosu for a job well done adding that the community should play their part by serving as volunteers to the health care for the good of all.
The event came to a conclusion with indigenes expressing happiness and satisfaction at the presence of health care in their community.
In conclusion of the opening ceremony, Hon. Peter nupeng made available food and drinks for the entire community and the attending guests.
