In Onitsha, Anambra, a fire on Sunday completely destroyed a one-story office apartment complex.
A statement detailing the occurrence was provided to press reporters in Onitsha and signed by Mr. Martin Agbili, Director/Fire Chief of the Anambra Fire Service.
The Anambra State Fire Service received a distress call regarding a fire at No. 52 Awka Road, Onitsha, which houses a one-story office structure, at around 1 p.m. on Sunday, according to the statement.
“I immediately deployed our fire truck and our ever-ready and fearless firefighters to the fire scene.

“They went into action, battled the fire, controlled and fought it to a standstill,” he said.
There were no casualties in the fire event, according to the fire chief, who suggested that a power surge may have started it.
Agbili emphasized the necessity of turning off all of our electrical and electronic devices at all times, especially when they are not in use.
