During the inauguration of the board at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, Awka, Anambra State, yesterday, the governor stressed that their role is to use their experience, contact, to grow the fund, and sustain the State’s giant strides in security.

 

Chief Chidi Anyaegbu of Chisco Motors and Consortium is Chairman, while Dr. Emma Ude-Akpeh, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Secretary to the State Government will serve as the Secretary of the Board.

Governor Obiano who emphasized that ideally, security should be everybody’s business, pointed out that the private sector is yet to meaningfully partner the government on security.

Governor Obiano announced that the State government will launch the Operation “Kpochapu Two” and the new security equipments, including armada, next month.

Giving a brief on the essence of the fund, Secretary to the State government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu recalled that the present government has laid a proper foundation for the State’s security architecture, the board is expected to raise funds through voluntary donations by private individuals and organizations, to complement government efforts on security.

He added that it is expected of the board to manage the fund transparently and provide annual account of its activities.

The Chairman of theTrust Fund Board, Chief Anyaegbu stressed that there is no life where there is no security, pointing out that he is in a position to appreciate what security is all about and the amount of money security costs.

He promised that the Board will do their best and deliver optimal security to Ndi Anambra.

Other members of the board include Former Governor, Dame Virgy Etiaba, Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi, Chief Chikodi Anarah, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, and Chief G.U Okeke.

Others are Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief Of Staff to the Governor, Mr Primus Odili, Retired General Chioba, Chief J.O Ukeje, Chief Emeka Offor and Chief Cletus Ibeto.
