Adams Oshiomhole, a current senator from the Edo North Senatorial District and a former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), claimed on Tuesday that President Bola Tinubu inherited a Nigerian economy that was already in a dire state.
After a private meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima, the former governor of Edo State made the submission to reporters.

However, Oshiomhole urged Nigerians to be patient with the Tinubu administration because the President was already moving to overhaul and reposition the economy.
He continued by saying that Shettima and Tinubu are both making daring moves to eradicate corruption from the system.
In his words, “The government inherited a terrible economic situation, everybody knows it. The government inherited an economy in which the total national revenue was barely enough to service our debt burden. Spending 96 percent; which is to say every one hundred naira Nigeria earns, ninety-six kobo is to pay debt.”
