Aisha Yesufu, a well-known Nigerian activist, has proclaimed Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), as her president just hours before Bola Tinubu’s inauguration.
The social critic claimed on Monday morning that Obi was her president on the microblogging site Twitter, according to newsmen.
The news breaks just a few hours before Tinubu is sworn in as Nigeria’s 16th president.
This platform is a reminder that Obi and the Labour Party are now contesting Bola Tinubu’s election as president in a lawsuit that is still pending at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

Obi expressed optimism that the Nigerian judiciary will use the election cases currently before it to reaffirm its independence and integrity while the matter is still being heard at the court in a few weeks.
The social activists, however, stated that “Peter Gregory Obi is my President.”
Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) candidate for president in the 2023 election, hasn’t got to instruct people to protest, according to Aisha Yesufu.
According to Newsmen, Yesufu revealed this during a live YouTube conversation with LP supporters referred to as “Obidents.”
She claims that since everyone—including Peter Obi, who is constantly present at the tribunal—is doing their part, excuses should be abandoned.
She added that anyone can protest and the instruction does not necessarily have to come from the former governor of Anambra State.

She said, “He is not going to tell anyone to be at a protest ground or anything, every one of us are all citizens that have a duty, if I feel I have lived enough, I not going to be on the street but I should know what to do.
”So on those questions about protests or no protest, I think it should be what is it that you want to do? So go ahead and do it, so let’s not keep looking for excuses.
There are people who are already doing their own thing. So if you want to protest, then go ahead and do it not that Peter Obi has to be the one to say this on the other one.”
