According to reports, Boko Haram soldiers have apprehended at least sixty terrorists, including senior Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) commanders.
According to information obtained, the ISWAP militants were attacked as they travelled to Damasak in Borno State.
Abubakar Saddiq, Abou Maimuna, and Malam Idris were identified as three of the terrorists who had been apprehended; they were all reportedly ISWAP commanders.

Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counter-insurgency specialist in Lake Chad, stated in a post on his social media platform on Wednesday (today) that the current conflict for supremacy between the opposing terrorist groups took place on Monday.
He claimed that ISWAP was compelled to seek sanctuary in more heavily guarded hiding places in the Kukawa, Madayi, and Kwatan Mota axis after the Boko Haram Buduma groups, who had the upper hand against ISWAP in the most recent turn of events, captured the majority of their enclaves.
“Massive Celebration hits Boko Haram camp after capturing 60 ISWAP fighters including 3 Commanders.
“On Aug 13, 2023, the Boko Haram faction intercepted about 60 ISWAP terrorists, including three key Commanders, Abubakar Saddiq, Abou Maimuna and Malam Idris, on their way to Damasak.
“These captives were later taken to an underground prison cell at KWATAN MOTA close to Dogon Chukwu, where they were held as Prisoners of War,” Makama wrote on Twitter.

The security expert then released a video recording of an alleged Boko Haram commander thanking his forces for defeating ISWAP terrorists in a later post.

Hundreds of people have been killed on both sides of the conflict between Boko Haram and ISWAP, according to Anaedoonline.ng.
Both parties have sworn to fight the security forces rather than one another.
