Ngozi Ezeonu was born on the 23rd of May, 1965 in Nigeria. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. D.O. Ikpelue and they hail from Ogbunike in the Anambra State of Nigeria. Before becoming an actress, Ngozi used to be a journalist in her early days.
It was not an easy walk to stardom or even to become a journalist. To fund her journalism diploma, she had to work as a hair-stylist. Upon completing her diploma, she practised journalism for a short while before deciding that acting is what she wanted to do.
Ngozi transitioned from journalism into acting in the year 1993. Her entry into Nollywood was aided by Zeb Ejiro who saw her potential and gave her a role in her debut film titled Nneka the Pretty Serpent.
It was her first movie, but she managed to land a leading role, and when the movie became a hit, she also became a hotcake in the business.

Since then, there’s no stopping her, and she has been able to feature in more than 150 movies. She finally got recognition for her talent in 2012 when she was awarded the Best Supporting Actress at the 8th Africa Movie Academy Awards for her role in Adesuwa.
