Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo said his administration is collaborating with private suppliers to ensure 24 hour energy in the state’s major cities during the next 30 months.
Soludo made the remarks on Friday during a ceremony to hand appointment letters to the newly hired 5,000 teachers for primary and secondary schools around the state.
“In only eight months in office, we have been energetically and simultaneously executing the five pillars of our people’s manifesto,” the governor remarked, recounting some of his accomplishments in office so far.

“Anambra is now a construction site with 230 kilometres of quality and strategic road constructions ongoing together with bridges and flyovers; we have launched regenerative agricultural revolution as well as reinventing the palm oil and coconut economy.
“Four industrial parks are being prepared, designed. We are working in partnership with private providers to guaranty 24 hours electricity in our major cities over the next 30 months. Street lights powered by solar are now replacing old technologies.”
According to Soludo, the age of schools lacking qualified teachers has ended with the recruitment of 5000 new teachers for primary and secondary schools.
He went on to say that with an additional 2,500 teachers in primary and secondary schools, the state will be able to maintain the best possible teacher-to-student ratios in the future.

As a fellow teacher, the Governor told the teachers that the government will prioritize teachers and guarantee they are engaged and empowered, adding that all of the tools they require will be provided.
The Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board and the Post Primary School Service Commission are responsible for hiring the 500 new teachers.
