Anambra State House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging Governor Willie Obiano to direct the State Judiciary and the contractor handling the proposed High Court Complex in Agulu Anaocha Local Government Area, back to site and ensure speedy completion of the project.
The resolution was sequel to a motion sponsored by the Member representing Anaocha Constituency 1, Hon. Ebele Ejiofor during plenary in Awka.
Ejiofor explained that the project was designed to decongest other adjoining sister Courts of concurrent jurisdictions thereby facilitating easy access and speedy dispensation of justice.
Worried that the abandonment of such vital project by the Contractor amounts to colossal waste of public funds, the lawmaker affirmed that on completion the facility will create enormous direct and indirect jobs.
On his part, the member representing Njikoka Constituency 2, Hon. Dr Pete Ibida observed that the High Court Complex could be used by miscreants for criminal activities if left uncompleted, stressing that the speedy completion of the High Court Complex will not only create more employment opportunities for Ndi Anambra but will also help in facilitating easy access to justice and quick dispensation of cases within the State.

The Member representing Anambra East Constituency, Chief Obinna Emeneka urged the Executive Arm of Government to complete all the abandoned building projects across the state to prevent the people from using them for nefarious activities.
The Deputy Speaker, Dr. Paschal Agbodike who presided over the plenary read out the resolution, while the lawmakers supported it through a voice vote.
