Against the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Peter Gregory Obi and the Labour Party (LP) filed a petition with the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), which has been postponed three times.
Due to a botched timetable of documents that were supposed to support claims of irregularities during the February 25 presidential election, the case was suspended.
The court discovered that the documents didn’t follow its instruction at the resumed hearing on Thursday. The court discovered various inconsistencies when documentation for 23 local government units in Benue were submitted.

The errors seemed insurmountable, so attempts to fix them and reschedule the documents were unsuccessful.
As a last option, Chief Emeka Okpoko (SAN), the attorney for Obi and the Labour Party, tried to use papers that hadn’t been submitted for the court. This action was denied due of its illegality.
The hearing was ultimately adjourned, and the court instructed the defense team to resubmit the document schedule in accordance with the guidelines specified in the pre-hearing report.
Obi’s petition hearing encountered a barrier for the third time, which added to the delay.
While their attorneys hurriedly re-filed paperwork at the court registry, Peter Obi and Vice Presidential candidate Datti Baba Ahmed were present in court at the time of reporting.
