The African blind football championship currently going on in Enugu on Saturday, November, 30th entered its semi-final stage with two matches being played.
The first match of the day which kicked off at exactly Eleven O’Clock, was between the Star Eagles blind football of Nigeria and their Malian counterparts while the second match between Morocco, the defending champions and Cote D’Ivoire were played at the afternoon hours.
To reach the semi-final stage, the Star blind football club of Nigeria defeated their Cameroonian counterpart by two goals against one, in the opening match of the competition played at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Monday, November 24. The Nigerian team also had a walkover against Libya team in their second match
Prior to the semi-final marchers, the 5th and 6th positions will be contested between the Egypt blind national team and Cameroun national blind team at the same pitch.

The finals of the competition which will produce Africa representative in the 2020 Tokyo, Japan World para Olympics will be played on Sunday, November 30.
The Star Eagles blind football of Nigeria which is participating in the African blind football for the first time is a product of Bina blind football academy Enugu, an affiliate of Bina Foundation, an Enugu based Non-governmental organization (NGO)_which offers free care and training for people with special needs.
The one week competition which initially started at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium and kicked off by the Enugu State Governor,Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi was sniffed to Rangers football training pitch to pave way for the Rangers International football club have their trainings at the stadium ahead of their international engagement with pyramids footballer club of Egypt on Sunday December1.

The sponsors of the competition,President of Bina Foundation, Lady Ifeoma Atuegwu with the support from her husband,Sir Chris Atuegwu,who is chairman, Board of trustees of Bina foundation told newsmen all logistics to ensure a hitch-free competition,the first of it’ s kind in Nigeria has been provided by the foundation.
The foundation has the technical support of the federal ministry of Youth and sports, also support from the Para-athletics federation of Nigeria to produce National blind football teams for Nigeria.
