Seinde Arogbofa, a prominent member of the Yoruba socio-political group Afenifere, has voiced concerns regarding the decisions made during a meeting between President Bola Tinubu and Ondo State’s political leaders.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Tinubu met with Ondo State political players on Friday night in an attempt to mend the division between Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The state lawmakers were instructed to abandon their stalled effort to impeach Aiyedatiwa and preserve the status quo during the six-hour meeting that took place at the Aso Rock Villa on Friday.
Arogbofa told reporters on Saturday that the acting governor should have taken over from Governor Rotimi Akeredolu till the latter comes to the state.
The Afenifere leader issued a warning, saying that if there is no one in the state government to delegate responsibility, there may be another crisis.
He said: “If the governor is in place, there is no need for an acting governor, but if the governor is not in place, there is a need for someone who has the authority to carry the task of governance.
“If there is no one with that authority, then it will be like an animal kingdom.”
Arogbofa mentioned that Ondo State’s peace is a priority for Afenifere and other state leaders.
