***Seeks Cooperation of Residents On The Erosion Site
The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, has inspected the ongoing reclamation project at 100-Foot Road Erosion site, Nnewi.

The Governor who was at the 100-Foot Road, today, Wednesday, 29th January 2019, inspected the ongoing construction works on the Storm Water Diversion Deep Channel and the Fifty (50) Feet Deep 100-Foot Road Gully Erosion, Uruagu Nnewi.
Speaking during the visit, His Excellency, Governor Willie Obiano, expressed satisfaction at the level of work done by IDC Construction Company.

He urged the Nnewi Community to support and co-operate with the contractors handling the project.

Speaking further, he expressed sadness over the ecological problem Anambra State Government is faced, saying that Anambra State has over 972 active erosion sites.

He revealed that Anambra State Government, Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) and the World Bank is already intervening in Sixteen (16) out of 972 Erosion Sites, nothing that he has pleaded with the Presidency to come to the rescue of Anambra State.
He added that the ongoing construction work in 100-Foot Road will cost 3 Billion Naira.
Governor Willie Obiano was received by the Member Representing Nnewi North in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor, the Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi North, Rt. Hon. Engr. Chukwudi Orizu.

Others include, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Budget Monitoring and Efficiency, Hon. Sir Ogbuefi Melie Onyejepu, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative Matters, Hon. Amala Anazodo, the Managing Director, Anambra State Hydraform and Concrete Agency, Hon. Tochi Obi-Ifeakandu.

Also present is the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Entrepreneurship, Mobilization and Strategy, Hon. Prince Nnamsom Nwafor-Orizu, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Entrepreneurship, Hon. Eloka Maduekwe, Igbo Spiritual Leader, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, the Nnewi North, Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance, Hon. Chika Agwucha.
