Think Outside The Box, Prof. Nedo Charges Nigeria Academics
The 5th international conference hosted by the School of General Studies, Federal Polytechnic Oko with the theme “Research and Innovation in tertiary education for sustainable development” held by on 25th – 27th July 2019 has been concluded.
The Conference had in attendance many Professors and academics from across the nation and beyond such as; Professor Chinedu Nebo, a former Vice-Chancellor of University of Nigeria Nsukka UNN, Prof. Eugene Nwadialor, Vice-Chancellor, Tasian University and host of others.
Professor Chinedu Nebo, a former Vice-Chancellor of UNN, and also a Former Minister of power, in his paper presentation, charged Nigerian academics to always think outside the box towards improving academic standards.
He argued that making research and presenting research papers should not be made to just be a criterion for promotion but should be geared towards improving the standard of academics.

Prof. Nebo further encouraged the Rector of the institution who doubled as the keynote speaker at the conference, to go an extra mile in uplifting the institution through non-conventional means and innovative ideas that can work in line with her vision and mission for the institution.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Francisca Unoma Nwafulugo, keynote speaker and Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Oko, reaffirmed that her Administration will pay particular attention to research and innovation as a tool to improve the academic standard of the institution.
