According to Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, the state administration has begun receiving reliable information regarding the May 30th death of five soldiers in Aba.
Otti revealed this on Thursday during a visit to the officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army’s 144 Battalion at the Ngwa High School in Aba, with the aim of raising their morale.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, five soldiers were slain at the Obikabia Junction in Aba on May 30 by as-yet-unidentified gunmen.

The governor said that he was there to talk to the soldiers about the killing.
Otti continued, saying that the government’s attempts to obtain intelligence on the incident were beginning to bear fruit and would continue.
“We have started getting very credible information; this intelligence gathering will continue, but I do not want it to dampen your morale.
“We have all been working together to secure this state in the last one year that I have been the Governor of the State, and I want to encourage you to continue your work; don’t get distracted.
“I believe, from credible intelligence available to us, that this criminal act may have been executed by people who are opposed to the progress and the good things that are happening in Abia.

“So, we will get to the root of the matter, we will arrest everyone that is involved,” he said.
He expressed his appreciation for the Nigerian Army’s dedication to upholding its citizenry’s rights, which had made a significant contribution to the security of people and property in Abia.
Otti told the soldiers not to allow the death of their comrades break their spirits and to stay vigilant.
