Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to back out of the N5 billion presidential boat purchase.
Sani based his argument on the hardship of Nigeria’s impoverished people.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the president included a request to spend N5.095 billion on a presidential boat in the 2023 supplemental budget that he presented to the National Assembly for approval.
Faulting the move, Sani posted on X: “The president should without delay cancel the purchase of that N5 billion Presidential Yacht.

“The poor can’t be struggling for survival in a canoe while their leader is yachting.”
On his part, an activist, Omoyele Sowore, accused Tinubu of brooding a dynasty of thieves.
Posting on X, Sowore wrote: “The @officialABAT dynasty of thieves! They want to buy a “Presidential Yacht” for N5billion for a man who’s never been to a stream before, they want to renovate a Presidential Lodge in Lagos for N4b for a man who just built a mansion in Lagos that stretches from Bourdillon to Queens Drive in Ikoyi!
