On Friday, the Delta State Governorship Election suit Tribunal dismissed Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s suit contesting the election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, an APC candidate.
The petition Omo-Agege presented to the tribunal was dismissed because it lacked merit.
The three-member tribunal panel led by Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu upheld Oborevwori’s victory in the state’s March 18, 2023 gubernatorial election in its ruling.
The tribunal held that the petitioners failed to prove allegations of non-compliance with the Electoral Act, and corrupt practices beyond a reasonable doubt.
