President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has petitioned a federal judge in the US to order Chicago State University (CSU) to only award former Vice President Atiku Abubakar with his academic credential.
On Monday, Tinubu requested from Judge Nancy Maldonado through his attorneys that all additional information, including the owner of the certificate’s gender and admissions history, be withheld.
Following the release of CSU transcripts showing the admission of a female Bola Tinubu from Southwest College Chicago in 1977, Anaedoonline.ng is aware of the controversy surrounding the admission of students to Chicago State University in the 1970s.
Reasons Why I Want Presidential Election Cancelled – Atiku
Recall that Tinubu had requested Ms. Maldonado to postpone the magistrate’s decision, made by Judge Jeffrey Gilbert, ordering the university to release his academic records to Atiku.
Tinubu pleaded with the judge to impose an immediate hold on a recent order releasing his university records in order to prevent him from suffering severe and irreparable harm.
The President claims that if the order requiring the handover of his academic records to Atiku is not postponed for a potential vacation, the harm he would experience would be impossible to ameliorate.
“There is harm in allowing discovery on issues and documents outside the diploma,” Tinubu’s lawyers said in their full briefing to the court seeking a review of Judge Jeffrey Gilbert’s order by Ms. Maldonado, a district judge.
