There are signs that other commissioners may follow Mr. Ifeatu Onejeme’s lead after he resigned as the Anambra State commissioner of Finance due to the governor’s tyranny.
More governor’s commissioners and aides may certainly resign their positions given the way Soludo handles them, according to a government source who did not want his identity published.
Sources claim that the governor treats the commissioners and his staff members like schoolchildren and never lets them participate in meetings.
“If Soludo is holding meetings with his commissioners and aides he does not allow them to air their opinions. He is the headmaster while others are pupils. He does not believe in the cross-fertilisation of ideas. He believes that he knows everything. Some of the commissioners and the aides who are principled may likely leave the government to face their businesses” he said.
According to the source, the government’s commissioner of finance resigned because someone meddled in the business of his ministry, and he made the decision to do so in order to uphold his integrity.
Reporters learned that Prof. Charles Soludo instructs the executives for the entire duration of the weekly Exco meeting.
He forbids participation from the executive team.
