Godswill Akpabio, a senatorial candidate for the All Progressives Congress, has been chosen to lead the chamber.
The former governor of Akwa Ibom represented the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial zone while serving as Minister for Niger Delta Affairs from 2019 to 2022.
