Kayode Salako, former Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State, and six others are scheduled to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee.
According to news reports, party leaders are due to appear before the committee on Friday to answer allegations of anti-party activity.
Moshood Salvador, Sunbo Onitiri, Olumide Adesoyin, Opeyemi Taiwo, Mutiu Kunle Okunola, and Theodore Ezeunara are among the others.

In a letter of invitation dated March 28, 2023, the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, P.J.A Igene, and Secretary, Olubunmi Adesanya, stated that the seven LP members are now under investigation.
The letter reads in part, “You are hereby invited to appear before Lagos State Labour Party Disciplinary Committee to clarify the said allegations.”
Salako, who had led the party in the state for six months, resigned at the party’s legal stakeholder meeting in January.
In the recently ended general elections, he ran for the House of Representatives from Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 1.
Salako has continued to criticize the party’s governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

In a statement on his official Facebook page on Sunday, the former LP Chairman accused Rhodes-Vivour of neglecting elders in the run-up to the state’s governor election on March 18.
In Onitiri’s case, he is the LP’s senate candidate in Lagos Central.
He reportedly defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) a few days before the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections and endorsed state Governor Babajide Sanwo-re-election Olu’s quest.
