Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has stated that he is not frightened of being summoned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) once his term expires.
The governor stated that he will not flee the nation at the end of his term for fear of being caught by the anti-graft agency.
According to newsmen, Wike revealed this on Monday’s episode of Channels Television’s breakfast show, Sunrise Daily.
He was responding to EFCC Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa’s statement that the anti-graft agency will begin arresting corrupt governors whose terms expire on May 29.

The governor claims he is unconcerned about the anti-graft agency’s threat to arrest governors accused of to have embezzled public funds.
Wike stated that he will attend the handover ceremony and will honor the EFCC’s invitation if one is extended to him, emphasizing that he has nothing to hide.
He has, however, sworn not to flee Nigeria days before the inauguration of his successor, as numerous former governors have done in the past.
“I’m not going to run away because of EFCC. Why should they invite me? If they invite me, I will honour their invitation. I will not run away,” he said.
