Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is expected to pay a visit to his closest opponent and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nominee, Atiku Abubakar.
According to newsmen, Tinubu’s visit this evening (Wednesday) would provide an opportunity for him to extend an olive branch to Atiku, and both are expected to have a cordial talk and prioritize the greater welfare of the country.
According to The Times, the President-elect may conduct a similar visit to Labour Party candidate Peter Obi, who defeated him in his political stronghold of Lagos State in the presidential election on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Recall that INEC declared Tinubu as president-elect on Wednesday morning, despite the rejection of the results by opposition political parties who claimed electoral fraud and INEC’s failure to follow its own regulations requiring transmission of results from polling units to a central server accessible to the public.
The visit comes just hours after INEC presented Tinubu with a certificate of return and a day after ECOWAS Election Monitoring Team representatives visited prominent candidates in the election at their individual houses.
