Kashim Shettima, the presidential running mate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has given reasons why Northerners should not vote for Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
Shettima stated that Northerners should abandon Atiku because he opposes the Islamic legal system in the North.
He made the announcement while speaking with APC supporters during the party’s local government conference in Daura, Katsina State.

The APC presidential running mate encouraged Northern voters to vote against Mr Abubakar on February 25 because he fought Sharia.
According to Shettima: “This person you call your own says you should not call him ‘Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, but rather Atiku Abubakar.
“Your person says he is the only person that fights against Sharia in the North. Is that your person?”
