Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has informed Uche Secondus, a former national PDP chairman, that he is no longer a party member.
Because of this, according to Wike, the former party chair is unable to comment on matters involving the main opposition party.
Additionally, he claimed that a past military administrator had publicly flogged Secondus for purported transgressions.

Wike was addressing Secondus’ assertion that the Governor lacks the authority to impose a presidential candidate on the voters of Rivers.
This came after the governor earlier in the week promised to tell the people of Rivers by January 1 who they will vote for in the 2023 presidential election.
Because Secondus had been expelled from the opposition party by his Andoni ward, Wike referred to him as an intrusive meddlesome foreigner.
The governor gave a speech at the Aluu-Omagwa Link Road’s Saturday opening ceremony at Omuagubia Playground.
“I read newspaper this morning where a former member of our party, one Uche Secondus said that no one man can impose a presidential candidate on Rivers people.

“He is not a member of our party. His ward expelled him from the party.
“Up until now, you are not a member of our party.”
The former party head, according to Wike, was informed that he would not be running the party’s primaries for the 2023 elections.
However, the governor claimed he never said he would force a candidate on them and that he would only reveal his choice of presidential candidate when the time was appropriate.
“But don’t blame them, when you didn’t finish secondary school, you will not understand the grammar,” he added.
