An unidentified middle-aged man was burned to death in a fire that engulfed Providus Bank’s headquarters in Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island, Lagos on Tuesday.
An unidentified number of people were also injured.
The fire is believed to have started on the bank’s premises while repair work on its generator was underway.
A vehicle belonging to the police attached to the bank was affected by the fire.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.
He said, “The fire started within the bank premises on Tuesday morning. Our vehicle got burnt but of our officers were not affected.
“One person died and others were injured. The injured persons have been hospitalised.”
