Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has alleged that the killing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Ahmed Gulak, is a clear indication of political assassination. Anaedoonline.ng reported that Gulak, who was a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, was shot dead in Imo by unknown assailants on Sunday while on his way to Abuja.

The Amandugba Divisional Police Headquarters in Isu Local Government Area of Imo State was set ablaze by some unknown gunmen on Monday. According to report, the assailants torched the police station by throwing inflammable substances at the police facility.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has promised the people of the South-East that a referendum will lead them to a sovereign nation of Biafra is close. IPOB charged the people of the region to determine in their agitation which it described as their fundamental human right.

The National leadership of Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) ably led by Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka has alleged Nigeria Police and Soldiers in Imo State of sabotaging the genuine effort of His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodinma to fight crime in the State.

The umbrella group for Yoruba self-determination groups, Ilana Omo Oodua, has said the group is not in any collaboration with Nnamdi Kanu and his group, the Indigenous People of Biafra. The Media Communications Secretary of Ilana Omo Oodua, Mr Maxwell Adeleye, said in a statement on Monday that the group was not collaborating with IPOB for any rally in Italy contrary to postcards on the rally he said had being in circulation.
