In what could be described as daring the Kaduna State Governor Mallam El-Rufai over 50 bandits attacked Kizachi Chawai community in Kauru Local Government Area of the State, killing no fewer than 11 Villagers and burning over 60 houses.
The Community was invaded quoted Iliya James from the village who survived the attack.
Anaedoonline.ng gathered that the attackers numbering over 50, attacked the Community at about 8pm Thursday 18th of March 2021.
Many of the villagers were said to have fled the community for safety. “These attacks have been consistent in the last one week” stated a former Councilor Honorable Abari Sunday
Honorable Abari said most of those killed were those who could not run fast enough to safety. “10 people including women and children who could not run were killed during the attack, while one person died of gunshot injuries on the way to the hospital”.
The attack was said to have lasted for several hours despite the presence of the military at Kiffin Chawai which is not more than two kilometres from the scene.
Anaedoonline.ng also confirmed that on Wednesday 17th of March 2021 a Community around Ungwan Magai was attacked by Herdsmen leading to 5 people sustaining gunshots injuries. Prior to that on Tuesday 16th a young man was shot dead and another injured while traveling along Ungwan Magaji on a motorcycle.
Kaduna state has in recent times witnessed series of terrorists attacks and kidnappings including mass abduction of school children and students for ransoms suspected to be carried out by armed Fulani Herdsmen.
It will be recalled that in 2016 the State Governor Mallam Nasiru Elrufai said he had identified the Herdsmen carrying out the killings in Southern Kaduna and even offered them monetary compensation to stop the killings. Ironically the killings only intensified after his revelation.
Just last week the governor backtracked on his earlier position and said his Government will no longer negotiate with terrorists operating in the state.

He stated that “We will not engage with bandits or kidnappers. Private citizens like clerics and clergymen can do so in their individual capacities, to preach to them and ask them to repent. We also want them to repent but it is not our job to ask them to do so.”
No security outfit was able to confirm the attack, however a police officer who pleaded anonimity confirmed the attack.
