A Traditional Ruler in Nnewi, His Highness, Obi Charles Afamefuna Obi (Ogidi IV) was kidnapped on his way back to his palace, yesterday, 12th February 2021, after attending the burial of the wife of the Traditional Ruler of Orafite, His Royal Highness, Igwe Dr. Dan Udoji.

Obi Charles who personally drove himself to Orafite without any security detail was abducted after the gunmen were said to have surrendered him after shooting sporadically into the air.

1. Obi Afamefuna Charles Obi was born on the 3rd of November, 1985.

2. He is a member of the ancient royal family of Obi Uruagu, Nnewi, and the successor of his father, Obi Nnamdi Atuchukwu Charles Obi (Ogidi III)

3. He is the 15th Traditional Ruler (Obi) of Uruagu, Nnewi.

4. His kingdom, Uruagu is made up of eleven (11) major communities which include, Ndiojukwu, Akaboedoji, Okpunoeze, Umumejiaku, Akaboukwu, Umumeagbu, Edoji, Okpuno, Umezeagu, Akaboezem, and Obiagu.

5. He completed his secondary education in the prestigious New Era Model Secondary School Uruagu, Nnewi.

6. He is a graduate of Political Science from Anambra State University, Igbariam (Now Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University).

7. Obi Afam Charles Obi tied the knot with his heartthrob, Lolo Udochukwu Obi (Nee Nwokenagu) at the Cathedral Church of St. Mary’s Uruagu Nnewi, on 3rd November 2018.
