Nigeria’s confirmed cases of coronavirus reached 27,564 on Friday night following 454 fresh infections, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said in an update.
Lagos recorded 87 of the 454 cases, followed by Edo with 63, FCT with 60 and Ondo 41.
The rest are: Benue – 32, Abia – 31, Ogun – 29, Oyo – 19, Kaduna – 17, Delta – 16, Enugu – 15, Borno – 14, Plateau – 9, Nasarawa – 8, Kano – 5, Bauchi – 4, Gombe – 2, Katsina – 1, Kogi – 1.
The total confirmed cases so far in Nigeria now stands at 27,564 of which 11,069 have been discharged.
However, the infection has claimed 628 lives.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, has urged Nigerians to brace up for an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases as a result of the easing of the lockdown nationwide.
He said that more cases of the virus are expected, especially as a result of the lifting of the ban on interstate travels, and therefore urged Nigerians not to assume it is safe to move about yet.
