Ohanaeze Ndigbo, an Igbo socio-cultural organization, claims that the Northern area colluded against the South during the just ended PDP Presidential primary poll.
Ohanaeze was reacting to the emergence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the PDP’s presidential flag bearer in the 2023 general elections, according to Anaedoonline.ng.
Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State resigned in support of Atiku and encouraged his followers to vote for the former vice president.

Dr. Alex Ogbonnia, a spokesperson for Ohanaeze, said the Igbo group was not thrilled with the Northern plot against the South-East.
According to Ogbonnia, the South lost the PDP Presidential nomination because all contestants from the area failed to endorse a candidate from the region to become the party’s flagbearer.
He said that the Northern candidates were cohesive and focused, but the Southern candidates were disorganized and disjointed.
The Ohanaeze representative further alleged that the North has ultimately skewed the presidency to itself by using the National Assembly as a tool.
He told Newsmen, “Ohanaeze is not happy about the conspiracy against the South and South-East in particular. Southern people that are struggling for the presidency they will not get especially when they can’t read the handwriting on the wall.

“You know the North has conspired against the South and the South should understand it. Instead of all the South-South and South-West giving validity and support to the South-East, they have been very busy struggling for it, therefore disarticulating themselves. So, where the North is united, the South is disarticulated.”
