Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation, has entered the presidential candidacy for 2023.
Despite the fact that the former Governor of Rivers State has yet to publicly proclaim his intention, a booklet promoting his candidacy was issued over the weekend.
Despite the enthusiasm of governors like Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, the governing party is expected to issue its presidential ticket to a Southerner.

“I believe that the future of Nigeria can only be best realized in the framework of one indivisible and unified nation,” Amaechi writes on the front of the 86-page pamphlet titled “Qualified to Serve.”
What is expected of us is that we continue to fight toward a society in which all of our citizens, regardless of race, creed, class, or situation, have equal access to opportunities.”
“We must give substance to democracy so that every Nigerian may find a place and a voice in a nation of free men and women,” another remark ascribed to the Minister says on the back page. To improve our strength, we must make use of our variety. We must make our streets and roads, as well as our woods and farmlands, safe for all Nigerians to pursue their own goals of a better life so that, together, we may realize our great land’s manifest destiny.”
The brochure also included photos of the minister dressed in various Nigerian outfits, a photograph of him and his wife, photos with President Buhari on various occasions, photos with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, and photos of the minister with Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

The minister’s names are plainly displayed on page three of the booklet and translated into English as Chibuike – God is strength; Rotimi – Stand by me; and Amaechi – Who knows future.
The table of contents covers “Making the Critical Choice; Reasons Why: The competitive advantages of Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi; First Among Equals; Broad and Deep Experience in Governance; Geopolitical Considerations; Nationalist Outlook; Political Prowess; Personality and Leadership Style; Track Record of Performance; Highlights of Achievements: Rivers State Governor (2007-2015); Highlights of Achievements: Ministry of Transportation (2015 – Date); and Hallmark of Amaechi’s Leadership.
Courage, stamina, and resilience were listed as part of some of the virtues that make Amaechi tower above others.
