Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has urged Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) followers in the state to use their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) to blast anyone who oppose their interests in the upcoming elections.
Wike advised the people to focus on winning the PDP’s governorship, state, and national assembly elections rather than the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The Governor insisted that the PDP’s national chairmanship position should go to the south because the party’s presidential ticket had gone to the north.

Speaking at the PDP campaign flag-off event in Rivers State’s Tai Local Government Area on Thursday, Wike questioned whether those opposed to him could murder him and charged the people with safeguarding him.
He insisted that those that refuse to care about the interest of Rivers people can’t get their votes.
He said: “You know PDP in Rivers State is the only party. I don’t know what they are doing in Abuja. But we, we are members of PDP Rivers State and we will do what is good for the interest of Rivers State.
“Anybody who has no interest about Rivers State, we too, we will not have his interest. In politics, if you do for me, I’ll do for you. If you love me, I love you, if you fall for me, I will fall for you.”
The Rivers State Governor stated that despite not voting for the PDP candidate, Atiku remained the best option given the events in the PDP and the national leadership’s failure to meet their demands.

“But, what did I really do that they want to kill me? I only insisted that since the north has produced the presidential candidate, the national chairmanship slot should come to the south. This is on the principle of live and let’s live. Did I do wrongly?
“Can they kill me? Will you allow them to kill me? Will you protect me? So, we will defend our votes. You’ll stay there and make sure you’ll vote for our candidates. Then, we will use our Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to pepper them,” he instructed.
Wike used the opportunity to urge people to vote for PDP governorship candidate Siminialayi Fubara, pushing them to cast 90 percent of their votes.
