Simon Lalong, the Director General of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Organization, has declared that Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction known as the G5 will support the All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the forthcoming election.
According to Newsmen, the Plateau State Governor made the claim while speaking to a group of APC supporters at a governorship campaign rally in his state earlier.
The APC leader also slammed a PDP faction led by former Governor Jonah Jang, characterizing them as a group of confused people. According to Lalong, the opposition camp division fighting the ruling party will eventually be cowed into supporting the APC presidential nominee to win the presidential election on February 25th.
Lalong advised Jang and his followers to promptly defect to APC in order to avoid the coming public humiliation that would shortly befall them.
He said: “The G5 Governors will support the Tinubu and Shettima presidential elections. So the PDP faction led by Governor Jang, are only fooling themselves. I call them confused people.”
According to news reports, Lalong received nearly 9,000 defectors from other political parties on Wednesday when launching the APC Governorship Campaign in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau South.
The governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Manji Gontori, has reportedly called on his supporters to switch allegiance to the APC’s governorship candidate, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda.
